Clarion Suites Anchorage Downtown

They saved us in the middle of the night, staff was always friendly and willing to help, room was clean and tidy overall great staff, I would recommend this place!!!

It is near downtown, provides good breakfast, has a large parking place, also large rooms. This hotel also has a fitness room. The most important things are: (1) There is a very good restaurant named "benihana" just aside this hotel, (2) If you want to observe Aurora in Anchorage, you can just go outside of this hotel, and walk downhill from the back of the hotel to the beach (okay, you can't reach the beach, but it's already quit near the beach). From there, you can see all the sky from southwest to north, with no light pollution. So, I think this hotel, this place is really good.

The room was decent—nothing fancy, but it was clean, a good size, and we got an amazing night’s sleep. The appearance of the hotel is a bit run-down, but it served its purpose. The continental breakfast was basic. Staff were friendly, though the potatoes were hard as a rock. Still, we left full, so we had no major complaints. Check-in went smoothly. We arrived around 11:45 p.m., and the gentleman at the desk was kind and professional. Checkout, however, wasn’t great. We left our keys in the room and were about to get into our Uber when the front desk informed us we needed to physically hand the keys over to officially check out. They had to make a new key just so I could go back up and grab the originals, which delayed our ride. I wish this policy had been explained at check-in.

I was surprised at the cleanliness and updates to this hotel at our recent stay. In the past it was not on great shape. The location isn't great but it's convenient downtown. I would stay again if I needed a quick stay in downtown Anchorage.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. This motel is situated in downtown Anchorage and walking distance to Trolley rides, a grocery store and many souvenir shops. The breakfast was very good for a free breakfast. Scrambled eggs, sausages, cereal, waffles, toast and juice. Coffee of course as well. We only had one problem while there for our second stay. We had been gone all day to see the glaciers and when we returned that night, someone’s luggage was in our room. We immediately inquired at the front desk. Found out that someone was given a key for our room that supposedly he was sharing with some co workers. Our key shouldn’t have worked if they gave him a key that worked, right? Quite a mix up but nothing seemed missing and staff was apologetic but had no explanations as to how it happened. The next day we had free until late evening so we left our luggage with the front desk after we checked out and walked all over downtown Anchorage. When we returned, they called a taxi for us. Staff was excellent during our entire stay.
